Transitional Additions for Occupational Pension (Survivors’ Mutual Aid Pension)

If a person who has participation periods before October 1, 2015 dies on October 1, 2015 or later, a Transitional additions for occupational pension (Survivors Mutual Aid Pension) occurs as the 3rd tier depending on the conditions. However, the payment requirement of insurance premiums also applies even to Survivors’ Mutual Aid Pension, in order to align the eligibility with that of Survivors’ Employees' Pension.

<Example 1> Long-term requirement, death off duty

If the date of death is on October 1, 2015 or later, then the 2nd tier becomes Survivors’ Employees' Pension. Since it is the long-term requirement, the Transitional additions for occupational pension (Survivors’ Mutual Aid Pension) occurs for the period with PMAC up to September 2015.
