Disability Pension Benefits (disabled while on duty)

Payment requirements

One will receive Disability Pension Benefits if the person is recognized as having a disability which corresponds to Disability Grade 1-3, on the day 1 year and 6 months after the first medical examination for sickness or an injury caused while on duty (called “First visit date”) during the participation period. The First visit date must be on or after October 1, 2015, during a participation period. Accidents while commuting (commuting injury) are not covered by this pension.

Payment pattern

  • This pension is a life pension. However, the payment is stopped while he/she is a member of PMAC System (being employed).
  • Since this pension aims to stabilize livelihood, the minimum guarantee is configured.
  • When a person has the eligibility for both Retirement Pension and Survivors’ Pension Benefits (deceased while on duty), the person needs to select one of these pensions.
