Exemption from premium during maternity/childcare leave

Upon your request following our approval of your Maternity or Childcare leave, you are exempted from insurance premiums withheld from your monthly salary and bonuses.

Members eligible for exemption from premiums

(1) Maternity/childbirth leave

Members absent from work due to pregnancy or childbirth from 42 days prior to the date or expected date of delivery whichever is earlier, (or, 98 days in case of multiple pregnancy) until 56 days after the date of childbirth

(2) Childcare leave

Members on childcare leave raising a child or children (including an adopted child or children) under 3 years of age

Insurance premiums subject to exemption

Schools and members are exempted from insurance premiums withheld from monthly salaries and bonuses during a premium exemption period applicable, irrespective of whether such payment is substantially made or not.

Duration of exemption from premiums

Insurance premiums are exempted from the first month of leave due to pregnancy, childbirth, or childcare to the month prior to the month of the day following the end date of such leave.

These exemption policies may be subject to change in October 2022 in accordance with the amendment of relevant laws. We will keep you posted on our website.

Duration of childcare leave to raise a child or children (including an adopted child or children) under 3 years of age

Case 1: Submitting the form before childbirth

Expected date of delivery: May 25
Leave period: April 14 to July 20
Duration of premium exemption: Premiums for April to June

Note:
Submit an application for premium exemption for childcare AFTER childbirth.

Premium exemption period when submitting the form before childbirth.

Case 2: Giving birth later than expected

Expected date of delivery: May 25
Date of childbirth: June 8
Leave period: April 14 to August 3
Duration of exemption from insurance premiums: Premiums for April to July

Note:
If you take childcare leave following maternity leave, you will be exempted from insurance premiums for August to the month prior to the month of the day following the end date of such leave.
