Handling of membership cards and dependent cards

If you submit an Eligibility Acquisition Notice, Dependent Recognition Notice, or Name Change Notice, and the Promotion and Mutual Aid Corporation for Private Schools of Japan (PMAC) has completed processing after December 2, 2024, the Membership Card or Dependent Card (hereinafter referred to as “Membership Card”) will not be issued.

Transitional measures after the abolition

Due to transitional measures, Membership Cards issued before December 2, 2024, can be used continuously as Health Insurance Cards for one year until December 1, 2025.
However, if you lose your qualification before December 1, 2025, you can use the Membership Card until the day before the qualification loss date. If you cancel your dependent status, you can use the Membership Card until the day before the cancellation date.
Voluntary Continued Insurance Members can use their currently issued Voluntary Continued Insurance Membership Cards until December 1, 2025, even if the Card expires after December 1, 2025.

Note:
The Health Insurance Eligibility Certificates will be issued at once in autumn 2025 only to persons who have not been issued an The Health Insurance Eligibility Certificate and have no registered Myna Health Insurance Card.
