Transportation expense benefit, Transportation expense benefit for dependent

When a member or dependent has problems walking or is unable to walk and needs public transportation (e.g. patient transport taxi) to get hospitalized or move to another hospital, transportation expenses can be reimbursed by meeting all of the following conditions. Use of transportation for seeing a doctor regularly or moving to another medical institution nearby for personal reasons will be outside the scope of reimbursement.

  1. The purpose of transportation is appropriate for insurance coverage.
  2. A patient has problems walking or is unable to walk because the patient is seriously injured or ill.
  3. Transportation is directed by a doctor due to an emergent situation or is deemed necessary.
