The following benefits are paid when a member passed away for reasons other than work or when a dependent passed away.

A member’s death

Death of a member who has a dependent(s)
Burial Benefit: 50,000 yen
Supplementary Burial Benefit: 25,000 yen

Death of a member who does not have any dependent
Burial Benefit: Actual burial cost or 50,000 yen, whichever is lower
Supplementary Burial Benefit: The actual burial cost deducted by 50,000 yen (25,000 yen is upper limit)

A dependent’s death

Dependent Burial Benefit: 50,000 yen
Supplementary Burial Dependent Benefit: 25,000 yen
