Childbirth gifts

The gift is granted to members (including Voluntary Continued Insurance Members) or their dependents who gave birth to a child and will foster the child under the Maternity Benefit or Dependent Maternity Benefit program or who had been a member for a year or more, gave birth to a child within six months of retirement, and will foster the child under the program.

Members, etc. eligible for the program will receive a childbirth gift, and they are privileged to choose an item from the gift catalog to be sent. To apply, please specify the chosen item in the Postal Card for Childbirth Gift enclosed therein.

Type C members, who are not eligible for the program are also entitled to this gift. To apply, please submit an extract copy of your family register or other document that evidences the parent-child relationship together with the Application Form for Childbirth Gift (for Type C members). A copy of the Health Insurance card is also required for a dependent who gave birth.
